A new Teamup calendar works right away, but it’s best to configure a few settings before events and users are added.
Access the calendar settings
The calendar settings are only accessible in a browser for calendar administrators.
- Log into Teamup on a browser.
- From your dashboard, open the calendar.
- Click the blue menu (top right).
- Select Settings.
Subscription
What’s here: The calendar’s subscription plan, billing details, payment method, billing history, and invoices.
The subscription belongs to the master calendar, not to a user account. The subscription plan determines limits on sub-calendars, custom fields, users, and other features.
Recommended:
- Review the plan comparison and pick a plan based on the number of users and other features needed (sub-calendars, custom fields, historical data, etc.).
- Add the billing contact and payment method now so renewals don’t lapse.
- Note where to find invoices, for organizations that need them for accounting.
General Settings
What’s here: Language, feature toggles, event sharing, event opening preference, and the About section.
Choose whether key features are enabled for users and customize calendar behavior.
Recommended:
- Set the language.
- Review available features and enable the ones your team will use.
- Configure the event sharing options.
- Choose an event opening preference.
- Customize the sidebar and About box.
Date and time
What’s here: Time zone, date format, week start, visible time range, calendar start date, default event duration, and the time indicator.
Recommended:
- Set the time zone to where most users or events are.
- Set the preferred week start and date format.
- Narrow the visible hours to working hours if that fits.
Calendar views
What’s here: Default view, time resolution, weekend visibility, and which views are available.
Recommended:
- Pick a default view that fits the use case. Configure specific view settings as needed.
- Hide weekends if they aren’t used.
Identity
What’s here: Calendar title and header appearance.
Recommended:
- Use a descriptive title (e.g. organization or team name). Add a header image or color if desired.
Build structure and add users
With the basic configuration done, the calendar is ready for structure.
- Start by setting up sub-calendars to organize events by team, room, or resource.
- Add custom event fields to capture the details that matter most.
- Next, add users and set their access permissions.
- Set up notifications to keep everyone up to date.
- Add integrations to connect Teamup with other tools.
