Teamup Change Notifications

Teamup account users can set up change notifications (discussed here), daily agenda emails, Slack notifications, and event reminders. To subscribe to or modify a notification, you must be logged in to your Teamup user account. 

What are change notifications?

Teamup change notifications allow calendar users to be notified when changes are made to events on the calendar. Teamup supports email notifications as well as push notifications for calendar changes. 

• Change notifications are sent when an changes occur on your calendar: an event is added, modified, or removed. Change notifications are not event reminders.
• Whether sent via email or push, there are different change notification types: None, New events, Important changes, All changes, or Comments. You can set a notification type individually per sub-calendar or set one type for all sub-calendars. More details below. 

• Only Teamup account users can manage notifications: To set up or manage notifications, you must be logged into your Teamup user account. If you are logged in but cannot access notifications, ask your calendar administrator to enable notifications.
  • To receive notifications without having a Teamup user account, ask your calendar administrator to set up notifications for you.

Enable change notifications

Calendar administrators control whether users can set up and manage their own notification subscriptions.

1. Open Teamup in a browser. 
2. Go to Settings > General Settings.
3. Scroll to the Notifications section.
4. Tick the box to Enable User Signup.

Set up change notifications

This article explains how to set up and manage change notifications; the information applies to all account users at any access level. For more details, see Email notifications or Push notifications. 

On a browser

1. Ensure that you are logged into your Teamup user account.
2. Open your calendar.
3. From the blue menu (top right), select Preferences > Change Notifications.
4. On the next screen, click to select Email Notifications or Change Notifications.
5. If the toggle button displays X/red, toggle it to √/green.
6. Set your preferences for the notifications. 
7. Click Save.

On the Teamup app

1. Swipe to open the left sidebar.
2. Tap the gear icon to open app settings. 
3. Tap Change notifications.
4. Tap Email notifications or Push notifications. 
5. Tap the toggle to make notifications active.
6. Set your preferences for notifications.
7. Tap the check mark (top right). 

Change notification types

When you set up change notifications, you can choose the notification type. This is an important setting as it determines which changes to your calendar will trigger a notification. 

Notification types

Notification types include None, New events, Important changes, or All changes.

• None: No notifications are triggered or sent.
• New events: Notifications are triggered when a new event is created. 
• Important changes: Notifications are trigged for new events, deleted events, and date and time changes.
• All changes: Notifications are triggered for any changes to an event. Includes event comments and event signups. 
• Comments: Notifications are triggered only by event comments. 

All or selected sub-calendars

You can set one notification type to apply to all sub-calendars. Or you can set the notification type individually for each sub-calendar. 

One notification type for all calendars

In the All calendars row, select a notification type from the menu. The chosen notification type will apply to all the sub-calendars. 

Selected notification types for individual calendars

You can receive notifications for changes on some sub-calendars, but not for others. Or you can set different notification types for each sub-calendar.

In the All calendars row, choose Selected. Then set the notification type from the drop-down menu next to each calendar name.  

Manage change notifications

You can adjust your notification preferences or unsubscribe at any time. The calendar administrator can also manage or deactivate change notifications for any user. 

In a browser

1. Ensure that you are logged into your Teamup user account.
2. Open your calendar.
3. From the blue menu (top right), select Preferences > Change Notifications.
4. Click the Pencil icon next to Email Notifications or Push Notifications. 
5. Adjust your preferences as needed, then click the green Save button. 
6. Or, to unsubscribe: Change the toggle to red/X to deactivate the change notifications.
7. Click Save.

In the Teamup app

1. Swipe to open the left sidebar.
2. Tap the gear icon to open app settings. 
3. Tap Change notifications.
4. Tap to select Email notifications or Push notifications.
5. Adjust your preferences as needed then tap the check mark (top right).
6. Or, to unsubscribe: Tap the Active toggle to off/white to deactivate the change notifications.
7. Tap the check mark.

Important notes

1. If you try to subscribe to or modify notifications when you are not logged in, you will be prompted to log in first. Log in to your account and you will then be able to configure your notifications as needed. If you do not yet have a Teamup user account, you can register for one.

2. Calendar administrators can view all notification subscriptions in Settings > Notifications and manage them accordingly.
3. Change notifications for past events are only available on selected subscription plans.
4. Email notifications are sent a maximum of every 5 minutes and are delayed at least 5 minutes after the first change happens. These limits are in place to reduce email volume.
5. Daily summaries are sent out between 7am and 8am CEST (Central European Summer Time) and CET (Central European Time). This translates to 5am to 7am GMT, 1am to 2am US Eastern Time, 10pm to 11pm Pacific Time and 4pm to 5pm Sydney time.
6. Email notifications can be disabled or enabled by the calendar administrator in Settings.
   • If the administrator disables a notification subscription, this does not unsubscribe any existing notification subscribers, but only stops sending notification emails.
   • If Notifications are enabled again by the administrator, subscribers will once again receive the notifications.
