Sharing Events on Teamup Mobile Apps

The event sharing options that have been available on Teamup Calendar when using a browser are now fully available on the Teamup mobile app for Android and iOS. To take advantage of the event sharing options, make sure that your mobile app is updated to the latest version.

New event sharing options

You can now share individual events with built-in sharing options on the Teamup mobile apps. This makes communicating and planning even easier than before.

Here are the event sharing options available on the Teamup mobile app:

How to access the sharing options

To access the event sharing options on the mobile app, open your calendar in the app as usual. Then tap an event to open the event details. You will see the sharing icon in the menu bar, in the top right:

Choose the sharing option from the menu.

Share an event to another calendar

It’s easy to share an event to another calendar:

  • tap to view the event,
  • tap the Sharing icon,
  • tap Another calendar option.

The event will open automatically in the other calendar app you have installed on your mobile device. If you have more than one calendar app, you will be prompted to choose the calendar app you wish to use.

The event details will automatically populate in your other calendar. You can adjust the details or add more information before saving the event to your calendar.

Here’s a screenshot of an event from a Teamup Calendar, shared to a Google Calendar. The event details, such as event title, date, time, and location, have been added automatically:

Adjust any details if desired, then tap Save.

This can be a helpful event sharing option if you use Teamup Calendar for one area (such as work) and use another calendar service for a different area (for example, using Google Calendar for your personal scheduling). With this sharing option, you can easily share an event from your Teamup work calendar to your Google personal calendar.

Share an event to another app

You can share any event on your Teamup Calendar to another app on your mobile device:

  • tap to view the event,
  • tap the Sharing icon,
  • tap Another app.

A sharing menu will open, showing all the apps you can share an event to; the apps available will depend on which apps you have installed and enabled on your phone. Here’s an example:

Choose the app you wish to use.

If you wish to share to an app that you have installed on your mobile device, but you do not see it included on the app sharing menu, check your device settings. You may need to enable sharing permissions for the app you wish to use.

An event shared via an app will include a link to the event page (see more details on the event page below), plus the event title and a truncated version of the event details:

Open an event as a web page

The ability to share an event as a web page is a very popular feature with Teamup users; it has many uses, and can make event organization, promotion, and management much easier. Now you can share an event as a webpage from the mobile apps. Here’s how:

  • tap to view the event,
  • tap the Sharing icon,
  • tap the Browser icon.

You may be prompted to choose the browser you wish to use. Once you choose the browser, the event will automatically open in your mobile browser as a stand-alone webpage:

Share the event page

Now you have some options for how to share the event page, the same as you’d open the event page in a browser on a desktop computer.

Tap the Sharing icon at the top of the event page and you will see an array of sharing buttons similar to the new sharing options directly from the app as described above,

You can use one of the sharing buttons to share the event page to another calendar, in an email, or via social media. Or you can copy the page URL and share by pasting into any text message, social media status, or other application.

Share an event via email

It’s easy to share an event via email:

On Facebook and Twitter, a social media update will automatically be filled in with the event details; you can adjust the status update as desired and then share it.

On Whatsapp, you will be taken to your list of frequent contacts and recent chats.

You can choose one of these contacts or chats, or use the Search icon to search for another Whatsapp contact or group. You can share an event to more than one contact or group at a time.

Once you have chosen the contact(s), tap the green arrow; you will be taken to the chat, and then you can send the event.
