Display Calendar Name in Event Titles

When you create an event, you assign it to one or more calendars. You can choose to display the calendar name(s) in event titles.

A Teamup calendar in week view. The Calendars list is on the left sidebar. The events show event titles and the calendar names in parentheses after the event titles. Some events do not have titles and show only the calendar names.

Why display calendar names in event titles

A Teamup master calendar is comprised of the sub-calendars it contains. These sub-calendars are often referred to simply as calendars. The list of calendars is displayed in the left sidebar.

An event can be assigned to one or more sub-calendars. The event’s color is determined by which calendar it is assigned to. If an event is assigned to more than one calendar, it will have striped colors. This color-coding is a helpful visual cue, indicating the calendar(s) that each event belongs to.

You may wish to replace or supplement this color-coding with a textual display of the calendar names in event titles. This can be helpful for increased accessibility. For example, the calendar name display may be important for color-blind users who rely on textual information or visually impaired users who use screen-reading aids.

How to show calendar names in event titles

A calendar administrator can set this option up in calendar settings.

  1. Open Teamup in a browser.
  2. Go to Settings > Event Fields.
  3. Click the edit icon for the Calendar field:
  4. Scroll to Show in event title and check Yes, then select Save.

The calendar name(s) for each event will be added in brackets after event titles. If you do not enter an event title, only the sub-calendar name will be displayed.
